Recent guidelines from the European Union for the safe and responsible disposal of many forms of electronic equipment have resulted in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive. There is a growing environmental issue due to the build up of redundant hardware and research shows that waste levels are set to increase significantly.
The WEEE directive clearly states that everyone, from manufacturers to end-users, have a responsibility to correctly dispose of their computer hardware.
